I enjoy the Hyatt Place in Rancho Cordova, CA when I visit my family in California. They have 2 double beds and a sectional couch with another bed. They happily accept my family of 6 and provide a free breakfast.

We stayed at the Majestic Inn in Chicago on a recent overnight. Very close to Wrigley, extremely affordable, and most rooms were set up as mini-suites (so we weren't forced to go to bed at 7 pm when the little guy did!) Free breakfast and parking, too. Can't beat that. Plus, I love supporting independent hotels.

  22. Mel on July 5, 2010 at 6:49 p.m.

Well, we can't really afford hotels so we mostly camp. So, our tent is the most kid-friendly place we stay. We did splurge and stay at a Super 8 that had a nice lawn, picnic table (for cooking) and a pile of dirt (that kept my boys occupied for a long time;)

Our family loves Hyatt Place hotels. They have a free continental breakfast, the sleeping area is somewhat separated from the living area (so mom and dad can stay up a little later) and all hotels have either an indoor or outdoor pool. We stayed at two different Hyatt Place's on our family vacation to Florida last month and had a great time!

The most kid friendly hotel I've ever stayed in was actually when I was a kid..we stayed at the Sandpiper resort at St. Petersburg Beach, FL. I did the kids program one day where we got to go to a scavenger hunt on the beach at night, then we ate pizza and watched Home Alone! I still remember everything about that place and I went there in 2nd grade, and I'm 27 now, and vow to take my own kids there one day!

Homewood Suites - they're reasonably priced for a "suite" hotel, you get a kitchen for handling all of the little tasks that are doable w/ just a microwave, but more tedious sometimes. There's a reasonably big space in which to live, and you can take a break from restaurants while traveling if you want. (I really like that last part - restaurants get old and expensive after a while.)

  80. Mandie Wade on July 7, 2010 at 7:01 a.m.

We really enjoyed a recent stay at a Holiday Inn Express. They had an indoor pool and cribs available. The room had a mini fridge and a microwave. The "continental breakfast bar" had a HUGE variety of food my kids and I both loved! There was also a basket in our room with microwave popcorn, snack bars and bottled water. We will be staying there again!

We've stayed in many - but one night while in Cookville, TN, storms broke out all over and, although we had a travel trailer behind our car, we opted to stay at a Hampton Inn just off the freeway. I had 1 infant and 2 toddlers, an elderly Mom and tired husband and the staff helped us unload at 1:30a.m. to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I was so appreciative to the staff for the help we got that night!

We've stayed at a couple of different Great Wolf Lodges and they've both been great. Regardless of how much money you're willing to spend, all the rooms are comfortable and kid friendly. The larger rooms have lofts / bunk beds/ kids sections. And the water parks located in the lodges are good for a day or two of relaxing and fun. I'd definitely recommend staying at one (the Wisconsin Dells location is my fave).

  125. Dana on July 8, 2010 at 5:07 p.m.

This probably sounds like a no-brainer, but the Grand Floridian at the Magic Kingdom was the perfect place for kid. They had huge pools to swim in, rooms that attached to each other so that kids could have their own space while parents had privacy, while also still being able to listen for any problems, and each kid is given a welcome pack on arrival with crayons and coloring books.

It would have to Circus Circus in Las Vegas. Vegas is great for adults but this hotel really helped with the children. There is so much for parents and children to do and have a great time. Casino fun for adults and circus fun for kids! And they do a great job of making the whole place very safe!

We stayed here for 3 nights last year when we went to Florida. The last day was spent entirely at the hotel. There were pool-side activities planned for the kids throughout the day including arts/crafts, swim races, water balloon toss. After 5 days of theme parks, this was a wonderful way to finish up the vacation relaxing by the pool and still have some activities for the kids to do. (extra entry 1)

I would love this opportunity. The most kid-friendly hotel I've ever stayed at was Circus Circus (Las Vegas) when I was in the 8th grade - it was awesome. We can't afford to go on vacations these days, so I haven't stayed in a hotel AT ALL since I've had my own kid. I wouldn't know which hotels are kid-friendly these days, lol.

The most family friendly hotel we've stayed in was the Worldmark Anaheim in California. Those are time-shares though so I'm not sure that would "count". The other one we recently stayed at was on our drive back home from Seattle we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Ontario, Oregon. It's a newer hotel, everything is very nice and clean! It had a great pool for the kids, and a very yummy continental breakfast with cereals, fruits, yogurt, biscuits & gravy, omelets, warm cinnamon rolls, and juices. The staff was very nice & friendly. There was also a mini fridge & microwave in the room, as well as a set of dishes & utensils. There was a flat screen TV with cable & DVD player too.

The Holiday Inn in Dallas. It was so great!!! They would bring meals to our room with just a phone call and always on a nicely covered table. There was always a big assortment of food the kids loved to choose from.Plus this hotel had games in the lobby for them to play. All we had to do was call down and request one and someone would bring it up. There were many to choose from. Then of course there was the wonderful swimming pool! We love this hotel and will always go back!!!

The Contemporary Resort in Orlando, Florida was the most kid-friendly hotel. The Contemporary helped us plan our days so we could fit in so many different activities throughout the day and leave time to relax.

Rooms have Pack 'n Play Playards.

There was an activity room where children could paint a pottery piece (mostly animals) of their choice and they would heat it and send it to the room later.

They have a game room for the older children to play video games and have a caricature made.

I've only ever stayed in a marriot. I was a kid myself so I don't remember if they were kid friendly. I've been fortunate to be able to stay with family most places. We'd love to use this for our trip to PA- HERSHEY PARK!

I highly recommend the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Aruba. Our entire family gathered there for a beautiful sunset beach wedding on the Marriott owned private island. They have 2 adjoining hotels, one that is for adults and one for adults and/or families. The pool there is wonderful, there is a thatched refreshment station which serves food and a towel station. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the entire family had a memorable time!

I hear the drury Inn & suites in joplin is nice, clean, and family friendly. The staff is kind and professional. Free soft drinks, snacks (nachos, chips, popcorn), and a hot breakfast is served.

I haven't found one yet. I've stayed at Disney hotels and the Sheraton in Anaheim with my young daughter. Every hotel ignored her and made no special effort for a young child. At least they didn't scream at least not in public. Oh my daughter behaved very well. She enjoyed the ice cream at Disney.

The Beach Club at Walt Disney World, which is near the back entrance to Epcot, but offers great pools and play areas at the resort if the kids just want to stay at the hotel all day

The Kyoto Grand Hotel in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles was AMAZING. It was located so close to the action of Los Angeles, very family-friendly, transportation that would take you anywhere within 10 miles of the hotel, was just awesome.
